AVG
has recently changed their shareware Rescue CD into freeware, so anyone can use it to scan and clean their virus infected machines. Rescue CD, it is a Live CD or bootable USB flash drive mostly used to recover a computer when the system cannot be loaded normally or will not allow normal operation, such as after an extensive or deep-rooted virus infection.

When your PC is infected by a virus, the damage can move forward and prevent you from starting the operating system. In that way, it is possible to run the antivirus utility to clean the PC.AVG Rescue CD is a program through which you can create a bootable CD with all the necessary components to clean your server in a secure and stable way.Basically, the software is a portable version of AVG antivirus, which means that it has almost the same functions, but with an increased capacity to work independently.AVG Rescue CD also has an important administrative tool pack designed for recovering the system and all its sources.

AVG Rescue CD contains the following set of administration tools:
Midnight Commander – a two-panel file manager
Windows Registry Editor– simple registry editor for more experienced users
TestDisk – powerful hard drive recovery tool
Ping – to test the availability of network resources (servers, domains, IP addresses)
Common Linux programs and services– vi text editor, OpenSSH daemon, ntfsprogs etc.
